DiskTrading Review

DiskTrading Home Page

Please note that the following review only applies to the forex data supplied by DiskTrading, NOT ALL of their data.

Disktrading contains an extensive history spanning 6+ years on the major currencies plus other exotics. Their cost is quite reasonable compared to other providers and they provide data in MetaStock, TradeStation and ASCII format available as well as time stamping the data in NY EST. Unfortunately their forex data is indicative and we noticed several holes inside their history source.

They got their data from eSignal for sure. The data quality is very poor and NOT suitable for serious backtesting or analysis.

  2. Gonzo Says:

I agree, the data has SOOOO many missing data points it is completely useless to do any backtesting….but if you stand back about 10 feet from the monitor it looks pretty.
Waste of money…too good to be true and it IS!

    Na…. their data is great.
Used it for testing and have traded it since. Going really well! 70% return in 6 weeks.

I have tested this data and find it has many holes and errors that (statistically) cause my trading system to give errant signals. I have noted in several places in their data were the currency jumps a cent or so and when I check this against other data, those jumps are not there. use with caution.
